There is a reason the great steel windows of the 1920s and 1930s have never really gone out of fashion. The proportions are right. The material is honest. And nothing built since has quite matched the quiet authority of a hot-rolled steel frame in a generous opening.
The Heritage by Ottostumm is as close as modern manufacturing gets to that original. Built from premium hot-rolled steel with its distinctive stepped-leg profile, it carries the unmistakable character of classic industrial glazing while meeting the structural demands of contemporary architecture. The strength significantly exceeds aluminium alternatives — allowing large glazed openings, up to nine door leaves on bifold configurations, with sightlines that remain genuinely slim.
It is a non-thermally broken system, which is part of what gives it its authentic character and U-values between 1.4 and 1.6 W/m²K. For period renovations, heritage properties and industrial-style homes where that character is the point, no thermally broken alternative comes close to replicating it.
